Our Four Agreements

Welcome to my blog! Hopefully you’re reading this before you delve down into the comment section and/or read anything, but if not that’s totally okay. Because better late than never, right?

I got the “Our Four Agreements” idea from my choir teacher, who got the idea from some book and basically the crux of it is:

Don’t be a bitch and don’t make everyone else’s life hard. Also, make sure to focus on being your best you.

So, I came up with my own Four Agreements! I fully expect everyone to keep these in mind as long as they’re here.

1. You don’t have to agree with everything I say.

I’m not always right. Opinions are not fact. I do try to make my arguments with as much support, logical reasoning, and evidence as possible but I’m not gonna hold it against you if you don’t agree with me. I’m not one of those people who will react negatively if you comment saying that you don’t agree. That being said…

2. If you intend to disagree or start a debate, keep it classy.

This should be obvious. On that note, comments are definitely not a right. I will 110% shut them down if people start trolling and/or getting nasty. I ain’t having that shit. That’s not intellectual discussion.

3. Don’t put up with anyone else’s bullshit.

Including mine. If you think something I said was flat-out wrong, drop me a line. There’s a box below, and I’ll put one on my About. Everyone needs to be called out sometimes, including me. If you feel like someone on the comments is saying something uncool and/or causing you discomfort and pain, same thing.

4. Have fun!
